Most Curious Wedding Fair – Class of 2020

Wedding planning

I was incredibly excited to receive the email from the team of Most Curious Wedding Fair telling me I was in for their London show from the 7th to the 9th of February, at the Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.

Most Curious is one of those wedding fairs that you feel you can only dream of ever being a part of. It’s big, but not too big – it has a very warm feel; it’s not traditional, it’s where rules are broken, when visions become real. It’s basically the art gallery of wedding fairs, and in the industry, it’s a pretty big deal. It is a place for design-led couples, those who want a stylish wedding, modern and contemporary – looking for one-of-a-kind pieces and luxurious details. Those whose weddings won’t be planned a certain way “just because” – but planned the way they are because it makes sense to them.

I knew I wanted to create something special for this fair to show couples how to display their cakes as well as how beautiful wedding cakes can be – and how delicious desserts can appear. I will be using one of my favourite colour palette – still a surprise for now! – and make a big cake display. To show my love for art, I will bring handpainted cakes that use a technique similar to oil-painting. Oil painting style gives cakes texture and a modern edge.

On top of this, I will use flowers – taking inspiration from nature and sustainability are both at the very core of my work – and have sourced various vases and candle sticks, all second hand – again, to show couples how a low waste wedding can also double as an incredible wedding. My stall will showcase cakes and desserts as luxury items, almost jewels, but equally delicious and single plastic free. It will be a delight for all your senses; and some parts of my table will double up as a tasting platter. Grazing tables are all the rage for weddings – and my stall will be a mix of a sweet grazing table and an art display. A mix between minimalist elegance and maximalist abundance, I hope it delights you as much as it delights me.

Before you can feast your eyes and mouth on my stall, here are some pictures I have used as inspiration. I hope to see many of you at the Truman Brewery.
