WEDDING DESSERTS

LET THEM EAT CAKE

(AND MANY, MANY OTHER THINGS)

One cake does not a wedding make. You can have the most luxurious, extravagant wedding cake but if it stands alone, it may fall a little flat on the day. A table of wedding desserts, on the other hand, makes for a truly show-stopping addition to your festivities and it’s the kind of thing that guests talk about for ages afterwards.

If crowd-pleasers are the order of the day, a wedding desserts table is a delightful route to choose. Your table can be loaded with all manner of vegan sweet treats, here are a few that I’ve been asked for recently:

Brownies
Rocky Roads
Rice Krispie treats
Peanut butter bars
Flapjacks

Cookies and cookie sandwiches
Mini chocolate bars
Scones
Doughnuts
Cinnamon rolls
Bundt cakes
Miniature cakes

Peanut butter cups

I’m an avid spokeswoman for sustainable, environmentally-friendly baking and my business operates on a strictly green basis. I use limited plastics, recycle whenever possible and run an entirely plant-based kitchen.

Wedding cakes are beautiful and I will always recommend having one as a centrepiece, but dessert tables and sweet grazing tables are fast-gathering momentum on Pinterest and elsewhere in the wedding industry. They allow you to offer your guests a selection of different kinds of treats, which means that everyone will find something to delight in. The popularity of the dessert table really isn’t much of a mystery.

While wedding cakes have a specific moment in the limelight during your wedding (they get cut, they get served), dessert tables are there for the whole day and people can dip in and out as they please. They’re indulgent little corners of Heaven.

Children also adore dessert tables. It’s their dream: unlimited access to sweets! If you’re having a big family affair, I can’t recommend them enough for child-pleasers. If you decide to add mini cake jars (very popular), mini choc bars or sugar cookies, they can double up as your wedding favours, offering waste-free, clutter free-treats for guests to take home and eat the next day. Cake for breakfast the following day is always marvellous!

We can colour-coordinate your table for an additional touch of luxury, and I can design the whole thing to fit with the theme of your wedding. This is such a wonderful opportunity to be truly creative and think outside the box, so do come to me with all your most innovative ideas.
