Modern white wedding cakes
When people say white wedding cakes, the vision that usually comes to mind is square, short and wide cakes. They’re generally piped, with terrible sugar flower work, and look like they are straight out of the 80s. Now, if that’s your style - go for it! I personally prefer tall cakes, if there are sugar flowers on I like them to be delicate, and I’m not a big ribbon fan - unless they are romantic silk ribbon.
If you think white wedding cakes are boring, think again! They are making a come back and I sure wish they stay, because they can be absolutely stunning.
If you want a wedding cake that looks timeless and elegant, classic but modern, you can absolutely go down the all white route. A white wedding cake can be modern and beautiful, and have the wow factor you want yourself and your guests to feel as they enter your wedding venue.
High tiers, acrylic separators and delicate sugar work
Acrylic tiers are oh so modern - they make your cake look like it is floating, it adds heights but in the most delicate way. The cascade of sugar flowers and leaves adds to the delicate look of this cake. Contrary to traditional cakes that have really heavy and thick sugar flowers, these are rolled thin so they look fragile and graceful.

Texture
Adding texture to your white wedding cake will add some depth to it, as the shadows will play around on it, and so much more interesting. Using real flowers and foliage puts a pop of colour on your cake, with a very natural feel.
Different shapes in tiers
This cake has a mix of round and square tiers, and you can see the bottom tiers are aligned in a different way. Its curious shape makes it look modern, as well as the white and black flowers and dried foliage. As you can see, it also uses texture to add interest.

White on white details + surrounded by desserts
A decorated cake table with added desserts will always be a show stopper. This white wedding cake was covered in different mediums and textures - wafer paper flowers, bas relief sugar flowers, sugar pearls, and ganache stencilling. Textures are modern so adding more and more on an all white cake will keep the timeless look but modernise it!
This cake is surrounded with desserts and flowers, candles and glass candlesticks - all to keep the white and minimal feel, but appealing to our sweet tooth and making it a full experience.

Minimal with dried and gold wafer paper flowers
Minimal always works with timeless style; these two tier white wedding cakes show that less can be equally stunning as more. On white cake stands surrounded by minimal and earthy tone flowers, they are romantic and elegant.
